The US Government Update

The U.S. Senate has passed a continuing resolution to fund the government through January 30, 2026, and as of today, the US TTB has officially reopened. During the shutdown, MHW continued to submit COLA, Formula, and Permit applications through TTB’s system. Please anticipate a TTB review backlog that may extend for several weeks or even months.

For new product launches, we recommend continuing to submit your Permits, Formulas and COLAs as soon as possible to account for delays that may extend into the new year and to communicate proactively with distributors and partners about potential sales and marketing impacts due to the shutdown. Our team remains committed to supporting you through this process. Please reach out to your MHW specialist with any questions or requests.

The TTB requests that any COLA waiver submissions during the shutdown be resubmitted.
