MHW Director of Compliance Cheryl Tittle recently organized a fundraiser for Susan G. Komen, a nonprofit that supports breast cancer research, patient care, education, and advocacy. Through an office bake sale, raffle, and donations from colleagues, the team exceeded its original $2,500 fundraising goal. MHW then contributed a company match, bringing the total to $5,000.

The fundraiser was organized ahead of the 2026 Greater Atlanta Race for the Cure, which Cheryl will participate in on October 17.

United for Breast Cancer Support

On September 24, MHW employees came together for an office bake sale featuring a variety of homemade treats. Cheryl prepared her famous fudge, Hershey Kiss brownies, and cupcakes. Executive Vice President Scott Saul contributed cheesecake, Client Account Manager Samantha Perrone baked muffins, and Compliance Administrator Grace LaRiviere brought cookies.

Cheryl also thanked Director of Growth Marketing Brigid Mannarino and Operations Assistant Erianna Gudsowski for their help organizing the event.

In addition to the bake sale, Cheryl organized a raffle with six prizes, giving employees who work remotely an opportunity to participate in the fundraiser as well. Prizes included a Rains Weekender Bag, a $100 Amazon gift card, a Versace Bright Crystal gift set, two adult beverage variety packs, and Beats headphones.

Scott Saul conducted the raffle drawing, with winners announced to the team afterward.

“Everyone has been incredibly generous with your donations, and once again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting this cause,” Cheryl wrote in a message to her colleagues following the event.

Encouraging Awareness and Early Detection

The fundraiser also coincides with October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an annual observance focused on increasing awareness, encouraging screening, and supporting people affected by breast cancer.

According to the American Cancer Society, approximately 1 in 8 women in the United States will develop breast cancer during her lifetime. In 2026, an estimated 321,910 women and 2,670 men are expected to be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in the country.

In a separate message to MHW employees, Cheryl encouraged her colleagues to be proactive about their health: “You know your body better than anyone. If something feels different or concerning, talk to your healthcare provider,” she wrote.

Breast cancer screening recommendations vary depending on age and individual risk. Susan G. Komen’s screening guidance encourages individuals to speak with their healthcare providers about when to begin mammograms and how often to get screened.

Cheryl will continue supporting the cause on Saturday, October 17, when she participates in the 2026 Greater Atlanta Race for the Cure at Lenox Square in Atlanta. The event brings together participants who walk, run, and raise funds to support Susan G. Komen’s work.

For anyone seeking breast health information, help accessing screening services, financial assistance, or emotional support, Susan G. Komen offers a free Breast Care Helpline at 1-877-465-6636 or helpline@komen.org.

As Cheryl reminds us: “This October, let’s do more than wear pink. Know your risk. Get screened. Know your normal. Take action.”
